Our programs rely on the help of parent and community volunteers like you. Becoming a volunteer coach is a great way to enrich the lives of your children and other young people in our community. As a volunteer coach you are a mentor to a whole team of young people, teach skills and create memories that will stay with your players for a lifetime. You become an important part of their youth sport experience. As a head coach, when you register, the fee for one child is waived once the steps below are completed. - Complete the volunteer/coach application.
- Attend or complete the Sport Specific Coaches Training programs.
- National Alliance for Youth Sports (NAYS) Coaches Training program. (online fee is $20 or attend one at the YB for no cost) www.nays.org/coaches. Complete an on-line background check with “Protect Youth Sports” fee is $12.50, https://opportunities.averity.com/ithacayouthbb
- Attend sport specific coach’s organizational meeting.
