The Recreation Partnership a collaboration of 10 municipalities in Tompkins County supports many of these programs and helps keep fees affordable for all! Adult/Child Pottery Time (Children 4+ & their adult in the Winter and Summer. Children 5 & up and their adult in the Fall and Spring)
Offered: All seasons Come share special time together creating memories in clay! No experience necessary. Hand-building and wheel throwing instruction will be provided. |
Pottery Open Studio Time (Ages 10 & up or children 4-9 and their adult)
Offered: Winter and Spring Children and adults who have taken pottery classes at the IYB previously may sign up for open studio time. During this time, the studio is open for their use of clay, glazes, and wheels with instruction and assistance provided, as needed. Participants will design their own projects which will be fired in the IYB kiln. |
Youtheatre (Ages 9-12)
Offered: Winter and Spring Explore and enjoy a little bit of everything in this exciting array (buffet) of theatre activities – original plays, theatre games, improvisation, music, and movement are just some of the activities included in this fun-filled morning program. Each session ends with a performance for family and friends. |
Imagine That (Ages 4-6)
Offered: All seasons Register for the extremely popular creative play program that introduces children to theatre games. Children will learn and understand storytelling, art, movement and music concepts through guided acting instruction. Children develop their imaginations while building confidence and group skills. |
Showtime! (Ages 7-11) (Ages 8-12 in the Spring)
Offered: Winter, Spring, and Summer There’s no business like show business! Come sing and dance to Broadway classics. No experience or training is required – just a smile on your face and a song in your heart. We’ll sing a show tune or two and learn some steps to go with ‘em. Get bitten by the musical theatre bug in this fun workshop, with a sharing for friends and family at the end. |
Theatre Buffet (Ages 6-8 in the Spring and Summer and Ages 7-10 in the Fall)
Offered: Fall, Spring, and Summer Comedy, tragedy, puppetry, masks, improv, and more fill this program. Get to know and explore different theatrical genre throughout the session. With something for everyone, this class introduces different ways of making theatre, letting everyone find what it is about theatre that catches their eye. |
